Volvo Group Telematics is looking for a several customer oriented Java developers. As Java Developer you carry out design, construction and testing of software units and integrated solutions within Application Development or Application Maintenance.
Required competencies:
• Degree in technical discipline required (Computer Science, Math/Physics, Engineering, etc
• Experience with J2SE/J2EE development
• A background in several of software systems such as:
• J2EE based system or web application design and implementation
• RDBMS design and implement ( Oracle preferred)
• Working knowledge of Linux/Unix
• N-tier architecture design and deployment
• Open source java framework(e.g. Tomcat/Jboss, Sping, Hibernate/iBatis, Struts, ,Ajax, JQuery ,etc)
• Experience of using web service ( WSDL, SOAP, XML, XFile, Axis, etc)
• OOA/OOD, design pattern.
• Able to implement agile practices
• Unit test tools (JUnit ,EasyMock,etc)
• Source control tools (SVN,VSS,ClearCase,perforce,etc)
• Mobile application (Android, iOS, etc )development experience will be a big plus
• Good communications skills and the ability to work well with globally distributed teams.
• Strong initiative-taking and follow-through skills, strong ownership and sense of responsibility and be proactive.
• Ability to work effectively in a flexible, changing and challenging environment, manage multiple activities and priorities and work well under pressure.
• Fluent in English
Main activities:
• Responsible for the detailed design, coding, testing and documentation of software units
• Participates in estimation and planning of development, deployment and operation activities
• Analysis and troubleshooting production system issue
• Authorised to make commitments which fall within the tasks / frameworks given by the customer, project manager, maintenance manager or account manager. Identify the improvement opportunity and optimize the performance of system
• Develop system documentation, user training materials and work instruction
