The team you will belong to; Team Product Change Management is a group within chassis department Vehicle Engineering Gothenburg, and have responsibilities within project management, customer adaptation, geometry assurance, quality control, physical verification and material handling within Volvo Group Trucks Technology.
Since mid 2021 we have expanded with a new area and role called Verification Leader. The area has huge potential and is rapidly growing along with an increasing product change portfolio. Now it is time to expand the team!
The whole group consists of 20 people. We work together with many colleagues with different technical skills and cultures, which give you the opportunity to develop yourself, at the same time, contribute with your open mind, energy, passion, and respect for the individuals. ROLE DESCRIPTION
Through the product development process, verification is an important step. Today a lot of verification is done virtually. However, there are many technical areas such as routing etc. where we benefit from doing physical verifications on so called master objects.
Your role as verification leader will be to plan, coordinate, facilitate and follow up these activities.
You will be the leader and driver in these activities, and you will make sure it will happen in correct order, according to correct process with correct material at the right time. To do this a high level planning in front of every verification is needed, which will contain all prerequisites and needs to be anchored with project and line organization.
Verifications needs to be done cross functionally with all involved stakeholders according to build process.
In the activities several parts of the process needs to be secured, such as clashes, tool accessibility, ergonomics, possible future quality areas, quality impression etc. Then possible deviations and issues needs to be followed up in respective product change.
You will work closely with the engineers within chassis department as well as the product management team for respective product change initiative.
WHO ARE YOU?
We believe that you are a mechanical engineer or similar with a strong drive, high focus and curiosity. You are not afraid of taking initiatives, standing on the frontline to make sure things happen. You are thorough and have a high sense of order. You are used to have a cross functionally mindset and coordinating skills.
As the rest of the team, you are target oriented, agile and accountable for the tasks you take on. You are a team player with general technical interest and be committed to finalize the tasks.
An advantage is of course knowledge and experience of product build processes - preferably truck operations, chassis packaging and components/systems. Also Volvo systems such as KOLA, Creo view etc.
