Volvo CE Engine Systems has an ambitious product development program including Stage-V development projects and a planned transfer to Volvo engines in our medium duty segment. We plan future initiatives to secure environmental, performance and fuel efficiency requirements and we have high focus on field quality activities.
Engine Systems is located in Eskilstuna. Our product maintenance and development projects interact with all major technology and operations sites in the global Volvo CE organization. The engineering work is managed in close cooperation with stakeholders and involved functions.
To our Engine Development departments we are currently looking for talented persons to strengthen the capacity and competence within the mechanical design engineering area.
Job Summary
As a Validation & Verification Engineer within Light & Medium Duty Engine Development team from Volvo CE Engine Systems you will work with engine hardware, software and calibration adaptations to achieve optimal engine quality and performance for our products.
This means that you will work in all different areas of the engine, e.g HW structures, Software evaluation and Calibration verification etc.
The work is performed in project form and you will be responsible for collecting the needs, building the V&V plan including potential component, engine & machine functional and durability tests, following and supporting the tests and reporting the results to the project.
You will be working in close cooperation with our colleagues within the Engine Systems, Product Platforms, Volvo Group and partners.
Position Responsisbilities
• Collect V&V needs from the project team (Engineering, Aftermarket, ...)
• Plan and perform HW testing at suppliers
• Plan and Perform HW in test cells and machines
• Plan and Perform SW/Calibration testing in test cells and machine
• Coordinate the support function required for V&V (Measurement devices, Mechanical works, ...)
• Report V&V results to the Project team
• Work together with suppliers
• Interact with our Machine Platforms
• Collaboration with Project team

Qualifications
• Engine development experiences
• Engine Measurement / Test lab experience
• M.Sc or B.Sc in mechanical engineering
• High ability to plan and structure your work
• Fluent in English
• High ability to take initiatives
• Machine usage and duty cycle knowledge
• A personal interest in internal combustion engines is seen as a merit
• Result oriented
