Vehicle Mode Management (VMM) is responsible to secure that the car fulfills overarching requirements on availability of electrical energy. In order to handle this on a complete electrical system level a base concept is defined to describe the strategy and structure for how to technically balance generation and consumption of the electrical energy in the car from a generic perspective. Based on this concept a system solution then has to be defined for each car taking into consideration all aspects and prerequisites for that specific car. This system solution will then allocate requirements on all electrical components that, to some extent, consumes energy. During the system development process there will turn up cases when defined requirements will be in conflict with other requirements allocated on a component. A balancing process is then defined for how to tackle this balancing and decide on corrective actions to eliminate the conflict.
