The Department Geometry Development & Integration in the unit Strategy & Vehicle Concepts consists of about 50 permanent employees and additional consultants. Our responsibility is to, within the division Research and Development, lead geometric system integration of complete cars and platforms. The car is divided into seven blocks and there is seven Block Leaders with the overall responsibility for each block.
As a Vehicle Integration Engineer you will lead the concept development in your area of the car in the later part of the concept phase and further balancing of design solutions into the industrialisation phase. You will balance the geometric requirements and solutions from among others: Attribute Leaders, Styling and Manufacturing to an agreed and well-functioning car. This is a very important and central role in our department process as this balancing act is the base for all further development work.
Main responsibilities
• Lead the concept development in the area
• Balancing of design solution into the industrial phase
• Balancing geometric requirements and solutions
• Develop design proposals for technical solutions/manufacturing process in CATIA V5
• Perform benchmark studies on competitors
• Lead Vehicle Integration meetings
Required qualifications
• B.Sc. degree in engineering or equivalent (preferably Mechanical)
• Experience from engineering design in the automotive industry
• Ability to lead cross functional meetings in different areas
• Good experience in CAD, preferably CATIA V5
• Fluent in English written and spoken
• Knowledge of platform/tophat systems is beneficial
• Experience of product development processes within automotive is beneficial
• Microsoft Office
• Experience from Team Center Engineering and VisMockup would be an asset
