hela Sverige The Vehicle Dynamics and Strength Analysis group is part of the Global Chassis, BiW and Vehicle Dynamics department with global responsibility for the development of related systems and components. We are in total 19 persons in the Vehicle Dynamics and Steam today and have global responsibility for simulation, test and verification of strength, ride comfort and handling features for complete vehicle. The team is also responsible for design and test of vehicle dynamics components and systems.
A Volvo vehicle should provide good handling, safety, good steering response and good ride comfort for both driver and passengers. With comprehensive knowledge of Vehicle Dynamics theory, the best solution can be developed that fulfills wanted characteristics of ride comfort and handling features.
As a vehicle dynamics test engineer, you will be an important player in finding this best solution. Not only through test activities but also by taking an active role in the different projects regarding setting and verifying project requirements within the vehicle dynamics area.
Core Responsibilities
Perform verifications and validations of handling, ride comfort, steering and other miscellaneous tests
Coordinate activities for the tests
Analyze measured data
Write engineering reports and present results
Develop and write test codes
Represent Vehicle Dynamics in projects as requirement owner
Required Competencies
Vehicle knowledge, preferably from buses or trucks.
Experience of performing test, preferably within Vehicle Dynamics area
Analytical skills
Have a structured and communicative way of working
English, both spoken and written.
Bus driving license is beneficial
Minimum Years of Experience Required
3-5 years of experience with complete vehicle testing
Minimum Education Required
Engineering degree or or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities
Physical Requirements
Activities related to testing requires movement around, in and out of the vehicles. You may also be required to mount test equipment and perform visual inspections of the chassis (e.g from an inspection pit).
