Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions. The increasing urbanization across the world requires enhanced public transport and here buses is an important part.

Within the Scania bus development organisation, our group, Dynamics and Strength Analysis, is responsible for all simulations on buses regarding Vehicle Dynamics (Handling and Comfort), Strength, Crash and Acoustics.

As the development time for tomorrows project will need shorter lead times, vehicle simulation are becoming more and more important and our team are preparing ourselves to take on the challenge.

Want to join the Vehicle Dynamics team?

What you'll do

Are you interested in vehicle handling? Comfort? Load estimation? Model and method development?

As a member of the MBS team you will be part of optimising, predicting and analysing the vehicle-dynamic properties of Scania's present and future bus and coach products.

You will be faced with tasks such as optimising suspension and steering hard points in a given design space in order to fulfil kinematic/elasto-kinematic demands of a new suspension or steering system. You will predict handling properties of e.g. bi-articulated buses and derive vehicle models for real-time calculations in advanced driver assistance systems. You will predict vibration levels in the passenger compartment of new bus concepts and derive fatigue and maximum loads for suspensions or frame modules.

These tasks are all dependent on accurate models and methods, therefore continuous improvement of our models and methods are also an important part of the work, as well as improving our development processes for streamlining our work and make sure deviations never recur.

Do you fit the profile?

We are looking for someone who has an analytical talent and a structured way of working. You have acquired a university degree in Vehicle, Mechanical engineering or similar, and preferably some years' experience of MBS simulations or vehicle-dynamics analysis. You enjoy presenting and explaining your findings in a pedagogical way. You are innovative, find it easy to cooperate and used to planning and pursuing your work independently based on a common process. You are also interested in improving our working methods, taking a holistic view of work and being open to new ideas.
