In Volvo Cars we are now in a search for an experienced Concept Engineer, to lead the mechanical concept integration work! Is this something for you?

The section Mechanical Architecture & Concept is part of the business unit Vehicle Hardware. Our responsibility is to cross functional lead the Mechanical Integration Work, involving Engineering, Product Design, Manufacturing, Service and other Attributes, in order to deliver robust and feasible Vehicle concepts in Architecture and Pre Programs.
As Vehicle Concept Engineer you will lead the mechanical concept integration work, hence we are looking for a Senior Engineer with strong working background. This is a very important and central role in the product development process. You will be responsible for conducting architecture and concept studies on vehicle level. The responsibility includes delivery of robust integrated mechanical concepts, as 3D CAD-data, meeting Attribute, Manufacturing and Service requirements. You will also take on the responsibility to deliver Technical Input to Product Design, as program prerequisites.
What you'll do
We increase focus on concept and architecture studies, because these are core activities for successful and future car programs.
You will lead the mechanical integration work in Annual and Pre Program phase and conduct Mechanical Architecture studies. You will as well take the lead in Vehicle Integration Meetings and make sure that everything is transparent and all functions are aligned.
You will be responsible for deliveries such as: Robust and cross functional agreed CATIA 3D data at Program Start, as well as Technical Input to Product Design and Creative and competitive concept solutions on vehicle level.
You and your skills
We believe you have at least B.Sc. degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent with relevant working experience. You have good expertise in 3D modeling, specifically in Catia V5, which would be additional merit. You have an understanding and working experiences with Teamcenter Visualisation or you have been closely connected to the tool.
Due to seniority of the position we would expect you to have around 10 years of working experience in automotive industry with extensive knowledge in whole vehicle structure and product development in general.
Fluency in English is mandatory and driving license "B" would be appreciated and expected.
