Group Tax is organized within Group Finance and consists of 22 persons in Sweden, US and China, specialized within corporate income tax, VAT, social security charges and transfer pricing. The work within Group Tax involves extensive contacts both within Volvo Cars and externally with tax authorities. This gives a tremendous opportunity for broadened experience and networking within Volvo Cars and externally in Sweden and worldwide.
The VAT and Indirect Tax department shall ensure that the companies within Volvo Cars follow local rules and regulations. The department's main task is to ensure that VAT and Indirect Tax is correctly handled and reported to authorities, set up VAT in different transactions scenarios, lead and administer VAT and Indirect Tax litigation and audits, issue policies and instruction.
What you'll do
The main task for a VAT and Indirect Tax Expert will be focusing on a broad range of VAT and Indirect Tax related matters within the Volvo Car Group such as preparing, reviewing and submitting VAT and Indirect Tax Returns and EC Sales for Volvo Car Corporation. In this role you will develop, support and monitor processes for filing of VAT and Indirect Tax Reports within Volvo Car Group. You will provide VAT and Indirect Tax support to different stakeholders in finance department, foreign affiliates and other departments to secure that Volvo Cars companies meet legal requirements. You will also participate in projects ensuring correct VAT and Indirect Tax handling/set up. Another responsibility will be to train the organization regarding VAT and Indirect tax matters and also guide the organization in ad hoc VAT and Indirect tax questions.
Do you fit the profile?
We are now looking for a knowledgeable and experienced person focused on international and Swedish VAT and Indirect Tax questions, who wants to be part of an active group in a dynamic environment. We are looking for you who is engaged and able to drive change and implementation. We want you to bring a good business acumen and to be customer focused. It is key to have good communication skills and knowledge in Microsoft Suite. To be successful in this role you need to have a University degree in Law or Economics. You should also have at least 5 years of experience from a qualified position within VAT and indirect taxation. You need to have experience from a large organization where you have performed tasks such as drafting/reviewing VAT returns, VAT and indirect tax audits and carrying out judicial investigations. You need to have good knowledge in accounting and in tax determination logic in SAP to get the correct VAT handling.
