The User Experience Design Chapter in Digital Delivery collaborates with other parts of the organization, to foster an environment where ideas, thoughts and opinions can be shared. We are team players with common ambitions, and we win together by uncovering user needs through collected data and inputs to improve the usability of products and services across the Volvo Group. Chapter domains of expertise have been established in UX Research, UX Creation, and UX Strategy to enable the business area leaders within Volvo Group to obtain UX guidance and support in the appropriate stages of software development lifecycles to reduce cost and increase efficiencies, while improving usability for internal and external user-facing applications. Our UX Design Chapter team are tasked with securing consistent UX, interaction and visual treatment of elements and components across products and services, considering a cohesive holistic experience.

This is how you could make an impact:
As the UX Strategy Chapter Lead, you will manage a group of UX strategists, UX designers and service designers, directly coaching and developing this team of UX professionals in their skills journey in the focus area of User Experience Strategy. The competences of this Chapter Area range from information architecture, design thinking, guidance on UX strategies, to behavior and service design. You will be a part of the UX Design Chapter management team and report to the Head of UX Design Chapter in Digital Delivery. You will also work directly with project teams in your area of UX expertise.

Your responsibilities will include:
Build & develop skills including attracting and developing talents
Build a UX Strategy community and enable knowledge sharing across domains
Work as a practitioner in your area of expertise of UX Strategy
Develop the working methods for UX Strategy and Service Design
Secure "external" input and best practice sharing in the community
Manage capacity planning and new requests for UX Strategists and Service Designers

Your background:
We believe you want to take your career to the next level, working with amazing people around the world. To be successful in this position we believe you need to have a university degree or equivalent, and several years of experience as a UX Design practitioner, as well as experience with leadership in line organizations or complex projects.You actively contribute to stakeholders' product vision, strategy and delivery, as well as being a sounding board to your team members to realize business value.

To summarize we expect you to have:
Minimum BA/MSc or equivalent degree in Interaction Design or a related design discipline
Full understanding of and ability to deliver work independently using design processes, creative methods and tools
Multiple years of experience as UX Designer or similar background
Excellent understanding of all aspects of UX processes and methods from research to visual design
Preferably experience from a leading position, with an emphasis on knowledge leadership
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Fluency in English

You need stellar communication skills and a passion for leading, inspiring, and developing people. You are a strong network builder, managing stakeholders in a cross-functional and multi-cultural environment with ease.

You should feel energized by working both independently and interdependently, have proven skills in cross-functional collaboration and thrive in managing, fostering, and enabling both the performing and performing aspects of the job.
