hela Sverige At Seco Tools, we're now looking for a skilled and creative UX/UI designer for our Advanced Tool Solutions team. Joining our crew, you become part of an exciting digital journey in a global environment. Together, we're moving forward steadily to improve our digital offering that empowers us to stay at the forefront of our industries. For us, visual design, durability, usability, desirability and aesthetics are key elements of our solutions. We always focus on the actual user, aiming for the best possible user experience in a hardcore environment where it's needed the most. Do you share our attitude? Then you might be our next addition!
Who we are and what we do
We are a people company in the machining business. For over 80 years, we have been more than just a cutting tool provider. Our tools help build planes, trains, automobiles, and everything else around us. Your phone case? The molds are cut and built by our tools. The lenses in the glasses you wear? Cut by Seco's products. We understand our business, strive to show continuous improvements and are proud of the work we do! We make a difference in people's lives, and we invite you to be a difference maker too.
Your mission
As our next user experience designer, you work with many stakeholders, as you develop graphical UI elements for use in our applications and strategic management and run the development of the software suite's graphical profile. You create and transform innovative ideas and improve existing products and services to be more user friendly and pleasant to use - practical, fit for purpose, and efficient - everything to bring a product to the market that the target group adores. Further, you produce sketches, concepts, and sharp solutions, and since you're involved in the entire product design process, you're also responsible for formulating and confirming key hypotheses through prototypes, wireframes, and mockups.
Naturally, a big part of your role is to listen to the customers, see them work and adapt the concepts according to their opinions and needs. You do this with an exclusive focus on growth, using various tools like tests and reviews, working closely with stakeholders such as product managers, other designers, data analysts, engineers, and sometimes external suppliers. New tech often raises lots of questions and a need to search for answers, and within the field of UX and UI you're one of our brilliant experts.
Your base is in Fagersta, Sweden.
Your character
We're looking for someone with solid experience in UX/UI design - both strategically and operational - combined with a background within the manufacturing industry. You have experience in user studies and research as well as prototyping user interfaces. Of course, you need skills in producing graphical elements for applications on different platforms, and here we wish Figma is your home arena. It's also a big plus if you've been working with native apps. As for education, we consider a relevant academic degree necessary, preferably in UX/UI design or similar digital graphical design. We also value excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Other languages skills, such as Swedish, are beneficial.
Your personality is key to our common success! Your innovative can-do attitude is the reason you're always moving forward. Showing a proactive, detailed, and solutions-oriented mindset, you're skilled in organizing and prioritizing your tasks - traits helping you thrive in a fast-paced work environment with many exciting projects to rule. As a fellow co-worker, you're supportive and inspiring, genuinely appreciate and value the importance of collaboration, yet at the same time, you have no problem working independently and driving your own success. And, as you're constantly searching for more efficient and creative solutions, you encourage us to think outside the box - always with the users' experience in mind!
