The lnstitute of health and care sciences is a national and international leader in person-centered care, which permeates education, research and innovation. The
department is organized in sections in the shape of academic environments which consist of interdisciplinary profile areas: Care for long-term conditions; Life contexts and health-promoting care; Diagnosis and care in acute and critical conditions and Learning and leadership for health professions. The department's administrative staff is organized in an administrative unit. In the academic environments, competence is integrated in order to promote quality in both education, research and collaboration.
The department conducts professional training for nurses, radiology nurses, midwives and specialist nurses. The undergraduate education programmes for nurses and radiology nurses lead to both a professional licence and a bachelor's degree The midwifery program and the specialist nursing program with different specializations lead to vocational degrees and licences as well as a master's degree.
In addition, commissioned training and single subject courses are given at advanced level, which provides the opportunity for further studies leading to a master's degree in one of the department's main subjects; nursing, radiography and care pedagogy. The department also conducts education at doctoral level in health and care sciences.

Subject area description
The field of Nursing is based on a humanistic view and includes knowledge about human development as well as health and well-being in connection with birth, illness, suffering and death. The vantage point is to promote a meaningful life despite illness or disability, as well as to enable a dignified death. The focus of Nursing is to relieve suffering, promote health and prevent illness and ill-health at the individual, group and societal level. Nursing is based on needs and problems related to health and ill-health and to daily life, but also from people's resources and ability to manage their life situation. People's reactions to and interpretation of their illness or life situation are also in focus. A health promoting environment is central in the field of nursing as well as a striving for equal relations between the caregiver, patient and relatives.
Duties
The position is located primarily within the clinical training center, which is part of the section for learning and leadership at the lnstitute of health and care sciences. Tutoring takes place mainly within clinical training. lf necessary, other tasks may be included in collaboration with other sections at the department.
The tasks include planning, teaching, examining and evaluating clinical skills, simulation-based teaching and interprofessional learning for the education programmes in a pedagogical and structured way. You are also expected to continuously work with pedagogical development. Furthermore, the position includes having a responsibility for the methods that are taught and being a contact person.
The position also includes responsibility for qualification tests for foreign nurses who have applied for Swedish nursing licences.
Due to the clinical nature of the teaching, parts of the employment's tasks can be located in a health care setting to provide the opportun ity for the employer to stay updated within the clinical practice. Teaching and supervision may also be relevant at the undergraduate and graduate level for nurses as well as in programmes hat are taught tat the department. The work takes place in close collaboration with other lecturer, clinical supervisors, assistant professors and other staff . Administrative tasks related to educational activities are also included as well as otherr tasks that may occur. The specific content of the employment may change over time ..
The employment includes actively working to achieve the department's objectives and business plan and actively contribute to the development of the section's Complete Academic Environment. In addition, all employees are expected to participate in the planned joint meetings and activities organized at the department.
The applicant must be able to teach in both Swedish and English.
Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for employing teaching staff are set out in Chapter 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance and in the Appointment Procedure for Teaching Posts at the University of Gothenburg.
The applicant must have completed higher education at advanced level or higher in nursing. They also need to have demonstrated pedagogical skills as well as a nursing degree and Swedish nursing credentials.
Fluent in Swedish and English in both speaking and writing.
