Massive Entertainment is a premier producer of games and interactive entertainment for the global market. The studio is located in Malmö, Sweden and fully owned by Ubisoft Entertainment, the world's third largest independent video game publisher. We are around 480 people from 38 different countries working together to produce major titles such as World in Conflict, Far Cry 3, Tom Clancy's The Division and our latest Avatar Project.
Job Description
Do you want to get hands on making innovative and state of the art UI? Massive Entertainment, a Ubisoft Studio is looking for a talented UI artist to join our international team, working on Avatar. In this position you are going to work closely with many different disciplines and will be tasked with designing complex user interface solutions.
This is a permanent position based in Malmö, Sweden, and requires working onsite.
Responsibilities
• Maintenance of the overall UI vision together with the lead UI designer and the rest of the design and UI team
• Design of UI art solutions in order to provide players with the best experience possible, with a focus on usability while also adhering to a coherent style
• Collaborate with game designers in coherently communicating the needs of the feature to the player
You as a person
Your knowledge in the field of UI and games transfers into clear passion and drive for taking initiative to find creative solutions to complex problems within James Cameron's world of Avatar. You prefer if your features can be developed in collaboration with the game designers and the rest of the team, as well as your comfort with working with a multidisciplinary team shines through in troubleshooting processes and creative brainstorms.
You easily take responsibility for driving features forward, and appreciate that the highest quality possible is achieved through collaboration and teamwork. The high quality bar also shines through when you've previously experienced how a poorly designed UI interface can completely break the otherwise immersive game features.
Qualifications
• Minimum 1 year of relevant industry experience
• Comfortable working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary design process
• Experience with problem solving and analytical troubleshooting
• Knowledge of 3D UI solutions
• Basic programming skills and/or experience working with node based tools and/or some scripting knowledge is a bonus
