Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics
Our Vision at the Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics is "Better use of genetic resources". The Department is located at Ultuna Campus, Uppsala and has 55 co-workers. We perform research in molecular genetics, quantitative genetics, applied genetics, and bioinformatics across a range of livestock species and companion animals. We also contribute to several education programs at SLU. See also Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics | Externwebben (slu.se)

We have an exciting portfolio of research projects in statistical genetics, machine learning, genomic prediction, population genetics, bioinformatics, and functional genomics. We are now recruiting two postdoctors in quantitative genetics with very solid statistical genetics knowledge that will work with whole genome sequence data in ongoing research projects and large scale phenomic and genomic data in dairy cattle.
