The division Surface and Exploration Drilling develops, manufactures and markets rock and exploration drilling equipment. The machines are used for various applications in civil and geotechnical engineering, quarries and both surface as well as underground mines worldwide. Job description
We are now looking for two engineers that wants to work with world class products and take them to the next level of performance. As a Mechanical Design Engineer at SED, you will design and develop our surface drill rigs. Working in this position typically means working in projects where mechanical design are the core area to manage. The work covers concept development and realization, 3D CAD design and modelling, weld and screw joint dimensioning, drawings and product specifications. It also includes a lot of internal cross functional contacts as well as external contacts with suppliers and others.

We build sophisticated machines with advanced systems in various technology areas such as diesel engines, compressor systems, advanced mechanisms etc. The competition within our segment of products is high and demands continuous development and improvements in order to stay ahead.
Qualifications
For this position you'll need at least a few years of experience in mechanical design or similar area to be successful. Knowledge from products for mobile applications in demanding environments is a merit.
To succeed in this role, you have experience from working with 3D CAD design. At Epiroc we mainly work with Creo.
We also think that you have experience from general machine design and machine element dimensioning such as screw and weld attachments.
Since we are working a lot in Teamcenter, that knowledge is preferable. Very good skills in English as this is the language for reports and communications. Skills in Swedish are beneficial.
We think you have a MSc or similar in mechanical engineering (or equivalent knowledge) with experience in mechanical design.
In order to succeed and enjoy the challenges in the position you should have a structured and analytical approach to your tasks. As a person you are self-propelled, responsible and like to take initiative. And since we are working with machines, a general technical interest is a good advantage.
Furthermore, you enjoy teamwork and a collaborative environment where communication is key.
