Job description:
Maintain overview of day to day transshipment activities . Provide high level of communication to origin and destination regarding transshipment status . Support Pricing team with ad hoc feeder enquiries and in setting tariff through rates. . Ensure tracking of shipments takes and communication / mitigation of deviations. . Maintain overview of feeder operators and short sea markets . Evaluate and recommend improvements to working processes with respect to transshipment and feeder activities. . Negotiate spot feeder rates on an ad hoc basis . Monitor and follow up performance of short sea carries. . Identify synergy possibilities with group companies with respect to Transshipment. . Advise on tactical decisions with respect to Transshipment . Direct contact with customers as requested by Commercial or Trade Business Units . Support development and implementation of WEBIT transshipment system.
Qualifications:
General shipping knowledge/experience and basic knowledge of maritime & transportation law - Well-organized with a structured way of working - Able to make to decisions and manage stressful situations - Focused on delivering customer satisfaction - both externally and internally - Result oriented and proactive in identifying improvement opportunities - Excellent communication skills and good negotiation ability - Fluent in English - Spoken and written Japanese is distinct advantage - Able to work across countries and cultures - Strong solution orientation
