The BU Functional Chemicals makes chemical intermediates, performance chemicals and end-products on a global scale. These chemicals are used in everyday items such as detergents, vinyl, automotive parts, agricultural products, pharmaceutical products, food products, wallpaper adhesives, plastic bags and cosmetics.
Within the EMEA purchasing organization, a team of 4 people is responsible for the purchasing of logistic services. These services include sea and road transport (packed/bulk), rail, barge, warehousing etc. The 7 SBUs within the BU produce and sell a wide variety of chemical products (including DG class 3 to 9). In total 30+ distribution locations, 120 logistic providers and 50+ million spend.

The position can be based in Stenungsund, Sweden or Amersfoort, The Netherlands.
In the role as Transport Category Buyer you will be responsible for commercial and strategic aspects of transport purchasing for the portfolio of items, ensuring that business needs are understood and met.
You will be acting as a buyer for all seven sBUs and taking the lead on Bulk road and Sea freight, while complying with the scope of the ISO 9000 standard and the HSE principles. In this role you will be responsible for development of sourcing strategies for assigned transport categories. As Transport Category Buyer you will be working closely and in cooperation with different stakeholders such as sBU's management, plant management, marketing & sales management and finances. To seek synergy, and where appropriate, support working with other BUs for the purchase of allocated categories, is an important part of this role.
To be successful in this position you have +/- 5 years of relevant working experience, including strategic purchasing and experience in international logistics or/and supply chain. In addition to that you have broad understanding of best practices in related areas of business and logistic purchasing in particular. On a personal level you are analytical and have a business-minded attitude.
We believe that you have previous experience in operating in an international business environment and can work independently as well as in a group. Excellent command in English is crucial for this role since you will be working in cross-cultural settings. Additional language skills will be seen as an advantage.
