Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Scania Transmission development is responsible for development of transmissions for heavy vehicles within the Traton Group. On a traditional vehicle we make sure the power from the engine is transferred to the wheels, and for electrified vehicles we are responsible for the design of the electrical motor itself.

We are in an exciting phase with a growing customer base and many new products in the pipeline. This means that the department is growing and we have an exciting future within the Traton Group.

About the team

Our team is leading and designing different development projects, making design changes on our existing products that our customers buy today. We make sure to work on the projects that are of highest priority for Scania and our customers, and we are dedicated to get them done in the shortest lead time possible. Our projects vary from smaller drawing changes to bigger changes that require testing, simulation and supplier development. We do the project management and design ourselves, and get great help from our experts from all parts of Scania.

Our mission is to reduce cost and improve quality, and our work is highly prioritized at Scania!

We work daily with our colleagues in Brazil to find the solutions that is best for us at Scania as well as for our sister company, MAN, that uses our gearboxes. This requires cross functional teamwork between different companies and continents.

About the future

Step by step we take a more clear role as professional leaders within the Traton Group and we spend more and more time on support to our partners abroad. We have now initiated a cooperation with US company Navistar, increasing the need for good collaboration and communication.

We have an exciting future ahead of us with many new projects being launched within the coming years, especially if the advance of electrified gearboxes.

Your profile

You are a driven person and have an ability to organize your work. You have the ability to dig into the details to understand how each parameter affects the full picture for Scania and for our customers.

You are fluent in English and you are able to gather, organize and present information in a way that it can be understood by yourself, and also by our colleagues within Traton.

You are a bachelor or master of science with a few years of experience within design, production, purchasing or project management. Skills in Catia V5, German language and Swedish language is beneficial but not needed.
