We are looking for A & S Engineers for Electric Drive Units and Transmission simulations/calculations within CFD, 1-D simulations and FEM-analysis. Example of simulations are: Lubrication and cooling analysis of transmissions and Electric Drive Units. Load calculations and performance analysis of park lock systems and shift systems in transmission. Strength and durability calculations of transmission subsystems and components.
AVL in Sweden has approximately 300 employees based in Haninge, Södertälje, Trollhättan and Gothenburg. As an engineer at AVL you will work with cutting edge technology in collaboration with experts in the global AVL team and our successful customers.
You will be working at our Tech center in Trollhättan or as Resident Engineer at customers in Sweden or elsewhere in the world.
Your Responsibilities: Analysis &Simulation engineer in driveline/ transmission projects for different types of transmissions (EV, AMT, AT, DCT, CVT, MT, etc.), both light and heavy duty vehicles Develop new and improve existing methods and guidelines. This can mean methods to calculate park lock loads, park lock engagement speed, shifting performance, lubrication and cooling analysis etc. Problem solving on existing products with detailed root cause analysis. Stay up-to-date with most recent technology findings within the field of transmission and drivetrain technology (especially within electrification).
Your Profile: Excellent analytical capability Good knowledge of machine elements, including clutches and hydraulic systems Experience from product development of transmissions for light- or heavy-duty is an advantage Knowledge in hybrid systems and/or electric machines is an advantage Knowledge in commercially available simulation tools (CFD-tools like STARCCM+, Matlab/SIMULINK, ANSA, Abaqus, AMESIM etc.) Good social and communication skills in Swedish and English Well organized and enthusiastic team member that can lead the work forward Eager to learn and guide your co-workers within your specialty Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Excellent analytical capability
