The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Stockholm is currently looking for a Translator/Typist
Work description:
• Translate documents from Swedish into English and from English into Swedish.
• Collect information on Sri Lanka in printed and electronic media and process them as required.
• Closely monitor the media from the Embassy's accredited countries and summarize important events into monthly reports.
• Update the Embassy website news section and social media accounts and write press releases
• Assist the Ambassador and the relevant Diplomatic Officers in preparing trade and political reports.
• Coordinate official work with Swedish Authorities.
Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in communication, political science or similar field
• Good IT skills
• Very high fluency in English and Swedish. Other relevant language qualifications are an added advantage. The candidate should also have work experience in translating from Swedish/English and English/Swedish.
• Excellent communication skills
• The candidate should be flexible, service-minded and prepared to work in a multicultural environment.
The starting gross salary all-inclusive would be SEK 17,000.
Selection Process:
Longlisted applicants will be called to take a written competitive test to identify the skills in the Swedish and English languages. Applicants are then selected for interview on the basis of the test result.
