hela Sverige We are looking for two highly skilled and motivated scientists with a background in cellular model and assay development.
The arena
The role will reside within Drug Safety and Metabolism (DSM), and more specifically within the department of Safety and ADME Translational Sciences. DSM provides the preclinical safety and DMPK assessment of therapeutic modalities across the value chain. DSM works with project teams to improve target evaluation from a safety perspective, facilitate the design of new modalities with safe profiles, provide risk assessments to guide design of clinical studies and support regulatory interactions as projects progress through clinical development and to the market.
Safety and ADME Translational Sciences is a global department within DSM that delivers quantitative translational models for functional and pathological safety signals and ADME support. The department is highly diverse with expertise in Safety Pharmacology, Safety Target Organs including Safety Assay and Model Development, Modelling and Informatics, Bioanalysis/Toxicokinetics and ADME.
You will be part of building up a new team that will be focusing on the development of in vitro models, provision of data and interpretation to safety risk management assessment and for driving the science for multiple target organ areas. Thereby supporting the AstraZeneca project portfolio in cutting edge areas of science.
The Translational Safety In Vitro Specialists will report to the head of the Translational Safety Assay and Model Development Group who is based in Gothenburg, Sweden. The roles could be based either in Gothenburg, Sweden or Cambridge, UK.

The role
Accountabilities
Develop and implement novel in vitro safety assays and technologies, including 2D and advanced 3D cellular models.
Design and execute in vitro experiments to deliver high quality data to support projects and drive mechanistic problem solving.
Provision of data and interpretation to safety risk management assessment for multiple target organ areas.
Work closely with other scientists within and outside own group and area.
Contribute to the strategy of own group and area.
Drive or contribute to the management of external collaborations.
Contribute to publications and present own data or data from the team at internal and external meetings.
Supervise or co-supervise other scientists, including postdoctoral fellows.
Identify opportunities to improve research methods and contribute to initiatives to implement these.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of scientific and technical advances of potential benefit to the business, in broad area of expertise.
Minimum experience
