The person will work in a team that is responsible for the architecture and high-level design of control system components. They will ensure that those components always fulfil customer expectations independent on whether development is done internally by BT or by external suppliers.
The work constitutes of systems engineering, customer and supplier interaction, requirements management and breakdown etc. The System Architect is also sometimes responsible for leading technical teams (project management).
The role is a senior position with significant influence.
Your Responsibilities
As member of a team of component architects you will define, implement, maintain and support a control system platform including controllers, input and output units, displays and communication equipment as well as related engineering tools to ensure quality, availability and competitiveness over time.
You will be responsible for:
• Technology outlook and road mapping
• Product roadmaps
• Change control and management
• Architecture and design.
• Modelling and simulation
• Requirements management
• Release planning
• Documentation
Qualifications
• An engineering degree at master level or similar. Preferably in computer science and software.
• Embedded systems including hardware and software. Project and change management.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies such as IoT, artificial intelligence, multi core processors etc.
• Transportation industry experience would be an asset.
• Fluent in English. Swedish would be an advantage.
• Willingness to travel as this role will involve some travelling
