The relevance of IP is increasing in the Volvo Group. Therefore, we are recruiting a Trademark and Design Counsel to the Volvo Group function IP Legal, Trademarks & Designs in Volvo Group Intellectual Property (VGIP). VGIP handles matters on a Volvo Group level and the Trademark and Design Counsel will thus assist the complete Volvo Group.
The main responsibility for a Trademark and Design Counsel is to handle and coordinate trademarks and design matters within the Volvo Group in close cooperation with Brand Management, concerned Design and Legal functions and Volvo Trademark Holding AB.
More specifically the following responsibilities are included:
• Handling and co-ordinating trademark and design applications, including prosecution, in conformity with Volvo Group directives and guidelines, together with outside service providers.
• Clearance studies and opinions regarding new trademarks and designs.
• Drafting and negotiating trademark and design related agreements such as co-existence agreements and license agreements.
• Renewals of trademark and designs.
• Surveillance of third party trademark and design applications and registrations and handling of possible oppositions.
• Handling and co-ordinating the enforcement of registered and unregistered trademarks and designs.
The work may require travelling from time to time.
Good English communication skills, both orally and in writing are essential. A good understanding of the automotive businesses and processes is a merit.

Critical Competencies for the Position
Master of Law as a preference and solid experience from private practice, industry or equivalent with focus on IP and in particular trademarks and designs. Strong personal credibility and integrity and a can-do mindset with high drive and energy and capability of performing multiple duties effectively in a fast paced environment. Both capability to work independently and a team player.
