Avalanche Studios Group and its creative division, Expansive Worlds, are looking for a skilled and highly motivated Tools Programmer for our successful title theHunter: Call of the Wild, based out of our studio in Malmö or Stockholm.
Initially released in 2017, Call of the Wild has been supported with many successful DLCs and content releases. Now, with being live on 5 platforms we continue to improve the quality and experience for our huge player base by adding new features (gameplay, visuals, stability, performance, UI/UX).
As a Tools Programmer within our team, your main responsibility will be to build, maintain and support user-friendly, yet advanced tools to be used by a range of disciplines in multiple titles in development. You will also work with our content pipeline to allow maximum efficiency for our content creators.
The ideal candidate has an interest in application development, usability and workflows, and has a strong drive to make the best possible tools. You will write tools for team members and support those people and tools through iteration and refinement. Above all, you have a keen awareness of the success criteria for your work-empowered, fulfilled and effective tools users.
Required Qualifications
Excellent programming skills in C++
Good knowledge of scripting language such as Python
At least 3 years of professional tools development
Ability to understand user needs and take them into account when programming
Experience with UI/UX
Strong communication & verbal skills in English
Beneficial Experience
Experience with a commercial game engine such as Unreal/Unity
Knowledge of UI frameworks such as Qt, WxWidgets
At least one shipped AA/AAA title
Experience with game design processes
Strong math skills
