The Group Tooling & Gauging is part of the section Manufacturing Engineering Realization and has a local responsibility for the engine factory in Skövde, Sweden. The group's responsibility is to implement, improve and maintain Tooling and Gauging system and documentation.
We are now searching for a Tooling Engineer with specialist knowledge and several year experience in metal cutting tools.
Main responsibilities
* Responsible for the cutting tools and their impact on our engine components, both related to projects and problem solving in today's production.
* Support projects and production as expert in advanced tooling questions.
* Make investigations and tests of methods for different ways of machining.
* Design of special tools in cooperation with tool manufacturer.
* Follow tooling costs per produced part and collaborate with purchasing dept.
* Form strategies, methods and working tools in the tooling engineering area
Required qualifications
* B.Sc. in Engineering or equivalent competence gained by experience.
* Experience from metal cutting tools, preferably in the automotive business.
* Experience in cutting zone conditions.
* Minimum 5 years engineering experience.
* Used to handle contacts with cutting tool suppliers.
* Good communication skills in English and Swedish, both spoken and written.
* Result oriented and used to manage deadlines.
* Analytical mind, methodical and a good problem solver.
