The Faculty Board of Teacher Education focuses research in teacher education and educational work. In recent years, this field of research has expanded greatly which is reflected both in the amount of external funding received and the fact that there are now about seventy doctoral students working with educational work, education and subject didactics. The Faculty Board is striving to bring many different cultural perspectives into the faculty’s activities and is therefore particularly positive to applications from persons with a background other than Swedish.

Subject area for the appointment
The Faculty Board is heading extensive development work focusing on research development and internationalization. By combining a four-year appointment as research fellow with a two-year postdoctoral appointment abroad, the appointee will on the one hand strengthen the research activities of the Faculty Board of Teacher Education and on the other hand contribute to increased internationalization. The appointee’s research programme must be clearly related to the board’s research in teacher education and educational work. At least two of the three positions will primarily be designated to these research areas:
• Literacy and history of literacy
This field embraces contemporary as well as historical aspect of literacy and includes research in reading and writing development in a multimedia society and CMC (computer mediated communication). The research area is multidisciplinary and covers a variety of theoretical perspectives.
• Career guidance, career development and young people's school-to-work transitions
The research may address one or several of the above aspects and adopt individual, institutional and/or policy perspectives.
• Measurement and evaluation
The field includes contemporary research in evaluation, validation and measurement. The research area embrace actual theories and methods and the main purpose is to develop the field directed to educational practice and educational systems.
Application procedure
With the application, candidates must attach a brief written account of their academic and teaching achievements and a four-year research plan of maximum 8 pages with a high degree of relevance for the Faculty Board’s area of responsibility. Candidates must also state at which department they would like to be placed. Applications must be in English and include an attested list of qualifications, attested copies of grade certificates, a list of publications and academic works including the dissertation. Three copies of all documents are required, sorted into sets. Electronic applications have to be submitted as one pdf-file and later sent in as copies.
