DEK Technologies are looking for students for a Master's thesis 30p, starting spring 2012.
Background:
With automated test it becomes easier to execute test and secure legacy software.
But even automated test have costs associated with it: execution time, multitude of hardware, analyzing of test results.
A good tester with long experience of the software can usually predict errors within software based on who wrote the code and which part of the code that was changed.
This means that the tester can make a selection of tests to execute and thereby reducing test execution time, hardware to execute test on and reducing analyzing of test results.
An artificial intelligence based on a neural network could do the same thing: select test cases to run and predict errors.
Goal
• Describe the data that is needed for input
• Describe an algorithm that can be used for fault prediction
• Implement a neural network using the algorithm preferably in erlang
Assignment Description
• The assignment will require a lot of work on your own.
• You need to be driven and able to plan your own work and motivate yourself.
Qualifications
• The student should study to become a master, preferably within Electrical Engineering/Computer Science/Telecommunication/Mathematics or equivalent
• Interest in Artificial Intelligence and neural networks
• Strong mathematical skills
