Within ÅF Automotive R&D we develop and deliver solutions for vehicles, systems, functions and attributes to customers in the automotive industry. Our customers are both established OEM 's, startup companies and system suppliers. We operate all over the world; mainly in Sweden, China, Brazil, US and UK.
The automotive industry are rapidly changing towards hybrid and electrical drivelines, targeting maintained/improved comfort for the passengers. This requires existing technology to be combined with the latest and previously stand-alone systems to be integrated. We now look for a Thermal Project Engineer within Climate, Cooling and Battery Thermal Management to support our customers develop systems of the future.
Your role will be to lead, plan and perform development activities which could be managed in-house or at the customer. The main responsibility will be within HVAC and Climate Comfort development, but will potentially also include thermal management of batteries and combustion engines. You will work in the early concept phase and set requirements on the system as well as on connected systems and components. In the later phases you will be responsible for test and verification of the system together with test engineers. Issues found are analyzed and potential solutions identified and implemented. The work is done in close cooperation with design and CAE team.
Who are you?
You are a brave and devoted team player with experience from development of HVAC/Cooling/Battery Thermal management. No challenge is too great and your mindset is to always add value to our customers.
Your academic background is a Bachelor or Master degree within heat transfer, fluid dynamics and refrigerant machines and you have probably been working at a global OEM or Tier 1, but is now looking for a new challenging career path. You have experience from working as a project engineer (or as design or test engineer) and can transfer theoretical analysis and knowledge into practical solutions. You have also experience from working together with suppliers within the automotive industry and a will to drive your project forward as well as sharing your experience and knowledge with others. Your business English is fluent both verbally and in writing and you communicate easily with both peers and management. A Swedish driver license is required.
