We are looking for an experienced Thermal Management Engineer who will be responsible for designing and analyzing thermal solutions of the module. The team will play an instrumental role in funneling the industry towards a standardization of form factors and design.

Main purpopse of the role is to perform thermal analysis using industry standard software to determine if product will meet product requirements and specifications and to analyze results based on first principles and advise improvements. Your goal is to establish a strong correlation between simulation and test results to reduce time to market and improve reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Development Support for battery thermal management through simulation aided design
Design product and components to meet internal and external specifications
Analyse and interpret customer requirements to determine feasibility of product proposal
Ensure the fulfillment of all applicable guidelines, regulations and compliance measures.
Execute engineering tasks defined within projects in order to meet schedule, budget and specifications
Northvolt intends to develop solutions around cell form factors and bring it to a fully functional prototype stage. Safety, energy density and total cost shall be key drivers completely mastered and understood. It is an advantage to be familiar with international standards and testing procedures commonly accepted in the battery industry.

Skills & Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (thermal focus) or related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level

Thermal systems experience in thermal design, analysis and hardware

Capability to develop conceptual thermal designs, perform trade studies, and deselect to a design baseline

Skills to establish thermal requirements and interfaces with project partners inside and outside of Northvolt

Preferrably experience from high speed and large volume manufacturing industries

Strong computer aided design skills and experience with 3D parametric CAD design tools

Great communication skills as you will be in constant interaction with team members and prospective customers

Experience working with international colleagues and customers

Excellent English written and oral skills

Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines, excellent time management

Strong organization skills and used to manage a range of activities simultaneously

Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently

Ability to work in a high profile and often high pressured environment (start-up)
