Test Object Leader - Electrical Distribution System
Electrical Distribution System (EDS) are responsible for developing the electrical distribution system, the wiring harness and the wiring harness components, in all vehicle lines within Volvo Cars.
EDS Concept and Quality are responsible for the design work done in pre-series builds and concept phases. They handle testing of EDS deliveries and are responsible for handling all EDS related quality issues. The team is also responsible for the CAE tools used by EDS' suppliers and for CAE support.
EDS are responsible for several different components and wiring harnesses and are involved in all vehicle builds, pre-series and production. The test object leader handles the pre-series builds with a focus on the wiring harnesses. In this position, you will secure that all harnesses needed in a pre-series build are available on time and with the correct content. The content in the available harnesses often doesn't match the content needed in a pre-series build, this means that you will have to coordinate the required harness changes together with EDS suppliers and project leaders.
This position requires a close corporation with EDS suppliers and the electrical design team, together you will determine what harness changes that are needed and what harnesses to use as base for the rebuilds. You will participate in pre-series meetings where the content is decided and support the project leaders in keeping the time plan. You will also handle the budget needed for rebuilds of the harnesses and support ordering of test materials.
Main responsibilities
* Participate on pre-series meetings and to keep up to date with the content in each pre-series build
* Plan the rework together with suppliers and the Electrical Design department to match the project time plan
* Keep the harness rework within budget
* Secure that harnesses with correct content are available on time for each pre-series build
Required qualifications
* University degree in Engineering or equivalent working experience
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* Vehicle knowledge
* KDP experience
* Teamcenter experience
* EDS work experience (meritorious)
* Understanding electrical schematics (meritorious)
Personal qualities
* Good communication skills
* The ability to cooperate and work within a team
* Structured with high analytical skills
