The department Electric Propulsion System Engineering (EPS) is responsible for development of all major part of hybrid and electric vehicle systems. Sub-systems as HV Batteries, Electric Drives, Power supplies and Chargers are some of their responsibilities. EPS is a new and expansive part within R&D where Electric Drive and Power Electronics with its electric machines is the key to deliver competitive electrical propulsion systems. The team is skilled, innovative and has a high passion of the area.
As Senior Test Engineer within the group you will be in the middle of the advanced Electric Machine development. You will be responsible for creating our new laboratory for testing of Electric Drive Systems and will be leading tests at Volvo, suppliers and external partners. You will be developing new methods together with the durability team and take part of the fantastic journey Volvo Car Group has taken in electrification.
Main responsibilities
• Responsible for ordering and specifying tests of Electric Drive Systems towards Volvo Car Groups internal lab, supplier or external test labs
• Develop and verify test methods for electric machines and systems together with our experts
• Secure coordination between our development team and test labs
• Follow up all test activities in project to secure validation of electric machines and systems
• Develop Volvo Car Group Electric Drive lab together with lab personnel and project teams
Required qualifications
• Engineering degree or equivalent
• Experience from testing within or towards laboratories
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Driver license B
• Able to use CAE tools, for example Matlab, for evaluation purpose is meritorious

• Structured and good analytical skills
• Team player with good communication and networking skills
