Engine Legal & Analysis department within Volvo CE is responsible for legal compliance of our engines ranging from 8-16L. Authorities around the world are constantly pushing for more and more stringent emission levels and environmentally friendly engines. This drives our development of the diesel engine and after treatment systems. Regulations on "in service emissions" or real life emissions are becoming more and more common. The need for Portable Emissions Measurements (PEMS) in the field as well as building up methods and processes around telematics for upcoming regulatory demands is in the scope. To manage this and future requirements, we need to strengthen our legal team with a Test & Data Analysis Engineer.

Your main tasks as a Test & Data Analysis Engineer will be to ensure that Volvo CE carries out relevant in service testing in our machines and report the required test data by European legislators in time. You will also follow the development of similar in service monitoring requirements in US, Canada, China, Korea and other countries. You will build up methods to utilize the available telematics systems in our machines to extract engine performance related data as well as propose improvements and needs as legal requirements develop in this area. You will also work closely with entities within Volvo such as Volvo Trucks, Busses and Penta to ensure harmonization in how PEMS testing and data analysis is carried out within Volvo. You will also provide input to the organization on engine duty cycles for further engine and machine development based on usage of our machines by our customers.

The work is performed within our team of engineers at Engine Legal & Analysis and Engine Systems in Eskilstuna, in cooperation with internal stakeholders and external contacts. With the role comes the responsibility for planning, keeping budgets, delivery, synchronization, follow-up and status reporting of the above mentioned areas.

The work is done in a highly global environment with internal, as well as external customers and partners. Good communication and cooperation skills are essential. Deep technical understanding of the engine, engine performance and emissions as well as engine after treatment systems is of high importance.
