The section Engine Control and Calibration is a part of Complete Powertrain Engineering at R&D. Currently we are approximately 85 employees organized in five groups working with function development, engine control and method development for both Diesel and Otto engines and Hybrid applications.

The group Diesel combustion and Engine out emissions are today 24 employees and is a central group of Complete Powertrain Engineering. We are mainly responsible for base calibration, performance calibration and emission calibration for normal, DPF regeneration and LNT regeneration modes. We do a large amount of our work in different engine test cells located in our laboratory but also in vehicles on site and on expeditions to find extreme climate and altitudes.

Our vehicle and engine variants are rapidly increasing and due to that we see a need of more efficient work methods. The Test Leader will have a important role enabling us to reach our high goals of efficient work methods, high quality calibrations and premium products that are fun to drive together with the lowest possible fuel consumption. In the role as Test Leader you establish and develop relationships with Engine Engineers from Engine Engineering, Calibration Engineers from Complete Powertrain Engineering and the engine laboratory.

Main responsibilities

• Lead functional role within Powertrain/lab to execute testing in dynamic PT test cells delivering QA measurement data
• Coordinate PT engineering test needs and engineering test preparations
• Develop test methods and test codes
• Take part of future test bed upgrades and working tool investments
• Coordinate powertrain tests together with engine engineers and test cell engineers
• Make sure test objects and test cells are prepared for planned tests
• Decide/propose suitable methods to find/receive requested data
• Method development to make processes and test more efficient and with improved quality

Required qualifications

• University degree in mechanical/electrical or physical engineering
• At least 2 years experience within the automotive industry or equivalent
• Knowledge from programs like Matlab/Simulink, INCA etc
• Good knowledge in English written and spoken
• Drivers license is a must
