Job description
Our costumer is looking for an experienced Test Automation (TA) Engineer to manage their TA framework and also lead and co-ordinate their Test Automation efforts for the Enovia platform.
Your key skills and experiences are hands-on TA for Web applications, using Selenium but you also need to be have solid experience from leading test automation teams towards set goals and create strategies and plans for TA, and get buy-in for the strategies and plans from all stakeholders.
Regarding TA, our costumer have already come a fair way and have a working setup but need your help with the continued work to lead and co-ordinate what we do within TA.
Our costumer is at a point where they need to take a step back and see how efficiently they are working with TA so you will need to be a visionary with very good communication skills to clarify the way of working within TA and also clarify how TA fits into our overall test activities and organization.
Apart from the Lead aspect of the role, you will also be one of the persons that hands-on maintain and expand the reach of the costumers TA, i.e. you also perform a lot of technical tasks such as scripting etc in your daily work.
Our costumer use Selenium (WebDriver and Grid) with Page Object Model for their automated tests and use TeamCity to execute the tests in our Continuous Test environment. The test cases are written in Python.
Apart from yourself, you will have a few (currently 3) colleagues who work full time with TA on the Enovia Platform. Together, you form a virtual team, which you will lead.
The context you?ll be working in is a situation with approx. 60 persons (incl. developers, testers, BA?s, managers etc.) split into 3-4 different teams, where the virtual TA team is currently a central shared resource, i.e. all TA team members are part of the same development team.
The costumers preliminary thinking forward is that TA should be decentralized into the teams but proposing the appropriate setup going forward is part of your assignment.
The current TA staff is located both in Stockholm and in India.
To be a suitable candidate for this assignment, you must know Selenium and Python very well (or have very solid experience from other object related languages, making it very easy for you to learn Python quickly). You should also have experience from working with TeamCity.
You are an experienced test automation engineer, used to collaborate closely with developers, other testers and business analysts. Therefore, your communication skills are very important.
You also have solid experience from having a lead role in a similar situation and from defining and executing strategies and implementations plans for TA.
A background as developer and/or tester would be beneficial.
You naturally share your knowledge with others and also enjoy learning from your peers.
