THE TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEAM IS LOOKING FOR NEW COLLEAGUES, TWO LEAD / SENIOR TEST ENGINEERS

You arrive at the office in the morning, and you walk by the coffee machine where you meet Josefin and Arthur in the design and simulation teams and you join them in the middles of a discussion around a possible design improvement for our latest transmission for electromobility.
When your cup is empty you change to your safety shoes and walk down to our transmission laboratory to check-in with the test cell engineers Alex and Martin around ongoing activities and with the mechanic Per who is already rebuilding your next test object. On your way back to the office you say hello to Ida who is doing an inventory of prototypes for a rebuild of a gearbox for electric propulsion.
After a short daily meeting with our team, you join Zhang in a start meeting around your next verification assignment before you run some manual testing in a test cell. Later you join Ana, Arjun and Erik for lunch.
In the afternoon you analyze some test data from your testing before lunch and review it together with the designers Ricardo and Linda. Over an afternoon coffee you and Victor discuss instrumentation for a vehicle test that you are planning for upcoming weeks before he needs to leave to pick-up his kids at pre-school.

THIS IS US, YOUR NEW COLLEAGUES
Our group, Transmission Verification, consist of 16 highly skilled and passionate colleagues working in different roles. We put our world-class gearboxes for electrical and conventional powertrains to the test, pushing them to the limit and beyond. We work with all types of physical verification, ranging from component level to complete vehicles and NVH, for both electrical and conventional propulsion. In the group there are both curious data evaluation nerds and pragmatic inventive hands-on troubleshooters. We want to make a difference by being there for our colleagues and customers by securing reliable, safe, and silent products.

We are a diverse group with different strengths, experiences, knowledge, and personalities. Your skillset and personality will be an important part of this.
We are now moving from destructive testing and towards more data collection for simulation and model validation and we need to strengthen our team with two Lead / Senior test engineers.
We can't promise you an effortless job, but what we can promise you is skilled colleagues and some truly exciting tasks to work with. You will start your mission in the middle of the technology shift, this will provide you with development opportunities both professionally and personally. We at Volvo Group want you to prosper and grow, because when you succeed, we succeed and together we drive prosperity.

YOUR ROLE
As a Lead / Senior Test Engineer you will be working with gearbox verification, with a mechatronic focus, for most of Volvo groups products for public roads ranging medium-duty electric buses to conventional heavy-duty trucks.
Your main focus in the team is to perform various verification activities. Most of your activities will be on gearbox system level in test cell. You will work mainly with hardware testing but in the interface with the software. Here you will be planning and handle the day-to-day work tasks including communication and documentation from the start to the finish working with stakeholders and colleagues. As a lead engineer you are also expected to be a driver of methodology development within your field and mentoring and coaching less experienced colleagues. Moreover, you will be leading and developing methods for data analysis for your executed tests, giving you knowledge about our product range and their intrinsic characteristics.

WHO WE THINK YOU ARE?
We think that you are a team player that prosper in an unpretentious collaborative environment, working together with stakeholders in partnership with our colleagues in the Driveline test laboratory. We also think that you are curious about how things work and love to evaluate data. We moreover think that you are open for all types of engineering challenges and have a service-minded attitude and a result-oriented mindset. As you will be working in a broad and diverse network, we think that you are fluent in written and spoken English. In addition to this, you have the ability to be a functional leader for your verification assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS
We expect you to have a university degree within engineering. We also anticipate that you have experience with relevant tools for both measurement and data evaluation. It's a merit if you have driver's license for truck.
