Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions. The Valve System group is responsible for the development of the engine valvetrain for today's and future engines. Right now we have an opening for you to join our awesome group; we are looking for a Test Engineer.

Your duties

As a test engineer, you will participate in the development of components for the valve system. We are currently facing an exciting time where many new components and systems will be developed to meet upcoming emissions legislation. This work is carried out not only for Scania, but in collaboration with our partner brands in the TRATON group.

As a test engineer in our group, you will be responsible for planning, conducting and analysing testing as well as working on developing new test methods. You are part of a team where, together with other design, simulation and test engineers, you must coordinate the development. We work closely with several other departments and suppliers; as the valvetrain becomes ever more complex close collaboration is needed with our colleagues working in both software development and gas exchange.

Your profile

We are looking for you who has a university degree in mechanical engineering, or similar. To be successful in this role, we envisage that you have a few years' experience in testing but are now ready to take the next step in your career. Alternatively, a real enthusiasm for understanding how complex mechanical systems work, and in particular engines!

As a person, you are positive and outgoing, can collaborate easily with others in your daily work and are structured with a sense of detail. You like to understand how components and systems interact and are able to draw conclusions about how these interactions affects the performance. To succeed in your role, we see that you have great drive, enjoy learning new things and have a good ability to absorb new information. As the role requires a lot of communication with several contact points, it is of great importance that you can communicate fluently in English, and have a willingness to learn Swedish.
