About us
In the department for Engine Control Systems we are responsible for the development of control system software for Scania's future engines. We have an open and innovative working environment, we advocate an agile way of working and a culture where both the individual and the team will have a great impact on the end product. In our group, we are in exciting times introducing control of new gas exchange concepts, improving software and testing for safety critical functionality and implementing advanced diagnostics for a demanding US market, among many other customers and projects.

While working as a test engineer you gain comprehensive knowledge of the gas exchange funcionality within engine management system and a good overview of how the functions are connected in the gas exchange software. The work consists of a big variety of tasks; such as identification and/or analysis of requirements, development of test cases and scripts for verification of new or important functionalities. You may need to performing tests in engine test cell, vehicles and simulated environments to collect the data for your work.
In the role as software test engineer, you are responsible for planning, prioritizing and following up test development for new functionalities, as well as developing and compiling unit tests, regression tests and giving recommendations on the approval level for the test object. You will work in close collaboration with software developers and drive the development of test strategies and processes together with them.
You and your skills
As a person you are responsible, structured and proactive and encouraged by technical challenges. You have an ability to quickly familiarize yourself with advanced problems with a desire to find creative solutions together with your colleagues. As the service involves many interfaces, you are responsive to various input and have no difficulties making new contacts.
You need to have experience in programming and software development. Experience from working with test strategies and coordination is of greater importance. In addition, you believe in building relationships with teams and stakeholders, inspiring and motivating others working towards a goal.
Interest in vehicles and more specific knowledge of the powertrain components are an advantage. You have a relevant university education and a European driving license for a passenger car. You are excellent in communication in English in speech and writing.
