Who we are

The section "Propulsion Systems Testing" is a section within the department "A&V Environments & BRAVe". Our main purpose is to operate and develop the department's test beds within Engine Durability & Component Testing, Engine function Testing, Propulsion & NVH Testing, Dynamic Powertrain Testing, Test Preparations & Methods and Systems & Methods. Our responsibility is to provide R&D with test beds and test equipment system in accordance with R&D needs with agreed solutions for capability and capacity over time.

The group Engine function Testing, consists of 16 engineers responsible for 12 engine test beds. Those test beds are used for engine function steady state testing. The steady state test beds are mainly used for base calibration of performance, emissions and fuel economy. Tests of different hardware setups and new concepts are also among our daily tasks.

What we offer

Your work will include performing tests and analysis in the High Voltage System, developing and searching new solutions to improve design and calibration data. Your work will be very varied as you will develop and running both manual and automatic tests in HIL-environment and in a brand new battery laboratory, as well as working with test vehicles. This is why we are searching for a person who is outgoing and flexible. There is traveling to expect on this position, since expeditions might take place around Sweden and abroad.

What you will do

The daily tasks are very varied due to the fact that we are performing tests from early prototype stages to the final homologation of production engines. We handle several types of test equipment and measuring devices. We work closely with test engineers, mechanics, designers, maintenance staff and colleagues within the group.

Your main responsibilities will be responsibility for the daily operation of the test bed and for for test object to rig interfacing. You need to make sure all test equipment used is maintained and calibrated, as well as plan and prepare new tests in the test bed computer system. You are also expected to continuously learn about new technology and be up to date with new possibilities and solutions.

You and your skills

Preferable education for this position is a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical engineering, Electronics, Mechatronic or through experience gained knowledge. You need to understand High Voltage Systems and engine control systems. We believe you have experience from engine optimization and testing.

You have an understanding of the engine set up and all components and you enjoy hands on work and collaboration with different stakeholders with the company. We would prefer if you already have couple of years of experience with testing, specifically with engines would be an additional merit.

We believe you are fluent in English, written and spoken, Swedish is beneficial. Moreover we also expect you to possess driving license "B", valid in EU.

Personal qualities

You have a genuine interest in technology and strong passion for testing and hands on work. You are a fast learner, having analytical and structured way of working.

We are looking for a problem solver and a good team player. You need to have cooperation and communication skills, as you recognize the importance of team work and collaboration. At the same time you are able to work independently and take required actions on own initiative.

You are thorough and organized, as well as flexible and prepared for instant changes and actions if needed.
