Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

About us

We are a friendly and ambitious group of 11 (a manager, object leader, simulation engineer, 5 designers, and 3 test engineers) with many skills and backgrounds and 4 different nationalities. We have a strong fika culture and take bi-weekly external lunches together. We pride ourselves in collaborating as a team to develop state-of-the-art new technologies and solve the problems that arise when doing this. We are now looking for a new member to join our team as a test engineer as we have a lot of exciting new technology that needs testing, analyzing, and optimizing!

Your duties

As a test engineer, you will participate in the development of components for the engine valvetrain. We are currently facing an exciting time at valvetrain development where many new components and systems will be developed to meet upcoming emissions legislation, including variable valvetrain technologies. This work is carried out not only for Scania, but in collaboration with our partner brands in the TRATON group.

You will be responsible for planning, conducting, and analyzing testing as well as working on developing new test methods. You are part of a team where, together with other design, simulation, and test engineers, you must coordinate the development work. We work closely with several other departments and suppliers; as the valvetrain becomes ever more complex close collaboration is needed with our colleagues working in both software development and gas exchange.

Your profile

To be successful in this role, we envisage that you have a few years of experience in testing but are now ready to take the next step in your career. Alternatively, a real enthusiasm for understanding how complex mechanical systems work, and in particular engines! You also have a university degree in mechanical engineering, or similar.

You have a positive and outgoing personality, can collaborate easily with others in your daily work, and are structured with a sense of detail. You like to understand how components and systems interact and can draw conclusions about how these interactions affect performance. To succeed in your role, we see that you have great drive, enjoy learning new things, and have a good ability to absorb new information. As the role requires a lot of communication with several contact points, it is of great importance that you can communicate fluently in English, and have the willingness to learn Swedish.

We offer

We offer an interesting and challenging job where there is plenty of scope for new ideas. Our corporate culture is characterized by openness, diversity, and respect for the individual. Employees are our most important resource, so we invest in training our employees and giving them the opportunity to broaden their skills to be able to grow with us.

Working at Scania you are offered benefits such as an option to sign an agreement employee car, a yearly company bonus, an occupational pension, flexible working hours, and much more. This role is with a hybrid remote work possibility. If you live in Stockholm, we offer a direct bus service from Stockholm City, via Liljeholmen to Södertälje.
