Marine Jet Power is an Uppsala-based company that started in Österbybruk 35 years ago. Today we have offices in the USA, UK and South Korea. The company develops, manufactures and distributes world-class water jet units and control systems for boats as well as ships between 7 and 100 meters in size and the power range 300 kW to 15MW. The unique products have strong global demand and the company sees strong growth in the coming years.
In Uppsala we are about 60 people who are placed and in total we are 75 people globally. At Marine Jet Power, we are proud to be the world leader in water jet units and control systems. Our customers are global and can be found in the private and public sectors, as well as in the armed forces.
About the position
To be the right person for the role, we see that you have work experience in testing and validation of control systems for a marine industry. You have an engineering degree or acquired equivalent experience through work experience. The role has a span over multiple engineering disciplines, and we are searching for a candidate with a genuine technical curiosity, sound judgement and an objective approach who wants onboard MJP for a journey. The role involves an amount of travel since you are expected to conduct commissioning of vessels globally in addition to test of control systems.
Capability and skill set:
We expect the candidate to have a knowledge of PLC based control systems, preferable in marine applications. You have excellent skills in the Office package (Excel, Word) as you are expected to document the result of your work in reports or test protocols. This is expected in both Swedish and English. You are familiar in how to read drawings, analyze and trouble shoot in an objectively manner for electric, and hydraulics. Knowledge in Marine classification rules is seen as a merit.
As a person, you are communicative and have no problems making contacts internally and externally. You are self-motivated, structured and like to drive continuous improvement for efficiency. You are a problem solver with a strong drive. Furthermore, you are a team player and have an ability to build relationships with others. You are loyal with high integrity and work ethics. You appreciate working in international structures.
The workplace is in Uppsala, full time service, daytime. The role contains an amount of travel.
