The Music teacher is responsible for the following:
• Teaching music to students in Grades PreK3 to 5.
• Contributing to the development and implementation of music curriculum.
• Communicating regularly with parents.
• Be an active and contributing member of the Expressive Arts faculty.
• Participating in the full range of professional activities in the school.
• Actively contributing to the operational needs of the school.
• Contribute to the school's performance programme.
Qualifications, Attributes and Experience
The Music teacher is expected to have:
• Teaching qualifications.
• Qualifications in the area of Music.
• Experience as a teacher.
• Excellent communication skills.
• The ability to establish rapport with adults and students.
• A sense of humour.
• The ability to work effectively in a team
• A pleasant and friendly personality.
• The ability to function effectively under pressure.
• The ability to show initiative and work independently.
We give particular importance to a working knowledge of the application of the IPC curriculum. Experience with the PYP or other international programmes is also valued.
Experience working with students from diverse cultures and countries would be an advantage.
