Mineral reserves and mineral resources are the basis of a mining company's operations. Boliden's exploration focuses on ores that contain zinc, copper and precious metals. Exploration Geophysics is a department within Boliden Mines Exploration, whose main task is to contribute to various near mine and field exploration projects, conduct geophysical surveys, geophysical data interpretation and development of methods and instruments.As a Geophysicist at the Exploration Geophysics department You will plan, implement and supervise geophysical field campaigns, and evaluate, secure and interpret data from these investigations. You will be responsible for the completion of geophysical investigations within your project areas, and will evaluate and report the results. You will also provide advice and support to other geophysicists, geologists, field technicians, contractors and consultants.The position is a temporary for 12 months, starting from October 2019, based in Boliden, Sweden.Education and qualificationsA B.Sc. degree or higher in geophysics is required, along with an understanding of the use of potential field and electromagnetic methods in mineral exploration. Experience in the mining industry as well as knowledge and skills in modeling and interpretation packages (e.g. Geosoft, Maxwell) is expected. You are proficient in written and spoken English, are result oriented, flexible and can work independently.
