DUTY STATEMENT
1. Under the supervision of the Consul and Vice Consul, provide consular services for Australian citizens, including providing assistance and reporting related to Australians resident in Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
2. Under direction of the Vice Consul, provide passport services for Australian citizens, including taking initial enquiries, conducting interviews, processing applications and monitoring progress of passport applications.
3. Liaise with local authorities in relation to consular and passport matters and cases. Provide support to Honorary Consuls in Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania concerning consular and passport services.
4. Perform financial delegations as a Sub-Collector of Public Moneys for consular and passport fees. Prepare financial reconciliations as required.
5. Maintain consular and passport records and information in accordance with relevant legislation and requirements.
6. As required, perform other corporate and administration functions and duties, including duties associated with Australian elections.
SELECTION CRITERIA
• High level written and oral communications skills in both English and Swedish. Developed interpersonal, client service and liaison skills.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, including the ability to organise workloads to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement, consult with others and take initiative. Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to Embassy priorities.
• Demonstrated information technology skills, including use of management information systems and databases.
• Detailed knowledge of, and ability to apply, legislative requirements and guidelines, or capacity to acquire and apply this knowledge. Good understanding of Australian and Swedish public administration.

CONDITIONS AND APPLICATION PROCESS
The salary for this position is SEK 27,500 per month (pre-tax). Details of other conditions of service will be provided at the interview stage. The successful applicant will be required to undergo security and police checks.
