PureBallast - a system developed by Alfa Laval and Wallenius Water, prevents the spread of invasive organisms between the oceans. We have a market leading position and since the launch in 2006, we have sold over 2000 systems to ship owners and shipyards worldwide. In the coming years the business in this global and dynamic market will grow rapidly. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Technology Manager to join our PureBallast team. Who are you?With business understanding, a passion for technology and what can be achieved with it, you manage and develop the technology team, and the PureBallast system. You are analytical, process oriented and conscientious, with a drive to exceed expectations. You challenge and work actively to develop employees. Delegate tasks, share knowledge and ask for help when needed. You believe in cooperation, have strong communicative skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships.
About the jobYou will manage employees of the technology team, define, initiate and lead projects for PureBallast. You are responsible for technical evaluation, competitor analysis, and the scouting and research of new technologies. You keep up to date with future legislative developments that can impact PureBallast biological performance, and are responsible for field evaluation and verification of new technologies.Key tasks:
Maintain PureBallast technology leadership through implementing new technical innovations
Make sure PureBallast is a forerunner in the digitalization era
Development of in and on-line compliance tools
Verification of new technologies
Responsible for resource planning, recruitments and operations of the department within approved cost frames
What you know
University degree in Engineering or equivalent
Project Management experience
Leadership experience
Experience of R&D processes
Experience from maritime industry
Fluency in English - oral and written
