Boliden Mines staff function has approximately 300 employees and includes, among other departments: HR & Sustainability, Finance, Technology, Business Development and Exploration.Work dutiesWould you like to have a key role in our exiting journey of developing Mining business in Boliden?Our current Technology Director is moving on to another interesting position and we are now looking for someone to take his place.Technology at Boliden Mines drives the development of mine design, methods, processes, plants, and is a corporate development resource for Boliden mines and concentrators . The function also supports operational units in budget and strategic planning, as well as a common resource in the implementation of planned activities. By combining these two roles, development and operational support, Technology contributes to transfer of skillful knowledge between different operational units and spread "best practice" with respect to design, methods and technology.As Technology Director, you ensure that the Technology function deliver in the area of expertise. You are part of the Boliden Mines management Team and you report to the President of Boliden Business Area Mines. Responsibilities:Development of mining design, methods, processes, facilities and is a common development and technology resource for Boliden's mines and concentrators.Support to Operational units with a basis for budget and strategic plans, being a common resource when implementing planned activities.Secure that the function contribute to transfer of skillful knowledge between the various operational units and disseminates 'best practice' regarding design, methods and technology.Formulate, prioritize and drive R&D for the Business area MinesSecure that method's, techniques and system used in the operational units are according to Boliden standard and that they are constantly being improved.Create a working environment that contribute to development of engineers and managers for mines and concentrators.You keep yourself up to date with and complies with legislation, with high EHSQ standards, and with Boliden policies and procedures.Education and qualificationsWe believe that you have 10+ years of broad experience in the mining technology business.You probably have a Master in sc. or PhD degree.You have probably had managerial experience for an operating business.You have high understanding the mining industry's processes and technology.You have an interest in research & development and see value with close collaboration with universities, institutes and suppliers.You have a future oriented and a strategic mindset with proven ability to drive an expert function.We assume that you share our basic values; enthusiasm, responsibility and personal commitment.The position is based in Boliden with traveling as a natural part of the role.To be successful in the role, we believe that you have an ability to manage a central function in a decentralized organization. High drive against targets, independence and ability to influence others are important characteristics for this position. You are a good communicator, ability to engage and delegate task to department managers.
