We are looking for a Senior IT architect and team lead for the Architecture and Technology team at Volvo Car Retail Solution (VCRS). Role description
The Architecture and Technology team at VCRS leads the company technical- and experience strategies. The mission is to see to it that the Product Portfolio has the technology and architecture prerequisites to meet the business challenges in the short and long term.
In your role as Technology and Architecture Lead, we expect you to help drive continued development towards an agile, value driven and forward oriented software development organization. In collaboration with your cross-functional team and other internal contacts, you will find new and enhanced solutions for VCRS customers in order to improve the customer experience. VCRS value high quality, high frequency and expedient learning - and you will contribute to the What and the How of it.
The team is responsible for the following
Technology Direction/Vision - set the vision for VCRS Architecture & Technology in close collaboration with Product Management and IT Operations. This includes target portfolio architecture, technology guidelines and prerequisites for business agility.
Core architecture domains - drive portfolio/enterprise architecture including information architecture, integration, security, technology, and user experience. By "drive" we mean establish policies and guidelines, preach and coach as well as follow up that these are well received in the organization.
Culture and organizational behaviour - facilitate the implementation of the technology direction/vision through structured improvement of all core architecture domains.
Cross-functional collaboration - enable product portfolio management and product teams by providing relevant input to strategic and tactical decisions, including technology life cycling.
Technology & Business trend analysis - research of relevant trends in the market and perform analysis and proofs of concept to validate applicability
Your profile
To be successful in this role, we think you are a proficient Enterprise Architect, CTO or similar with leadership skills and relevant academic degree or equivalent experience. You possess a strategic mind-set and have a comprehensive view of the architecture- and technology domains. We believe that you are used to working in a business context and driving architecture and technology from a value perspective. Probably, you have a developer background and a proven record of accomplishment delivering in one or more core architecture areas such as:
Architectures for distributed systems, integration patterns, information management, security, application layer protocols, persistence technologies
IT operations, including understanding of servers and networks, cloud operations, continuity planning and scaling strategies
You have a very good understanding of agile software development processes and practices, you might have been a Scrum Master for a team at some point, or have implemented "technical agile" concepts like DevOps, Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration/Deployment. English & Swedish written and spoken is required.
