In order to strengthen our team we are looking for a car technician with high skills in vehicle related software but also a professional sense of preparing cars and interacting with people.
Let us describe the challenge we offer
As a car technician at Commercial Cars, you will have to take a big responsibility in planning the job to meet deadlines that often are very tight. You will work in close contact with many different departments at Polestar in order to meet up with requests on cars for different kind of events. This role have a focus on software and diagnostics.
The position is located in Gothenburg at SAB, Polestars workshop but will also include travelling acting as technician supporting different events and activities.
What you'll do
As mentioned, this role have a strong focus in software and diagnostics of the cars. You will make sure the software in the cars is up to date with latest needed version. For example, you will be updating all available but also test SW (DSA or VIDA depending on the production status), replacing steering units and other components if needed, and using advanced diagnostics if the car is incorrectly built in early status. You will need to have the ability to trace and understand software related faults and come up with solutions to solve these problems.
Your main responsibilities:
• Be part of and setting up/preparing press car fleet of coming models; with everything from fit and finish, test drive, updating the software. This to ensure the cars are delivering the true Polestar feeling.
• Secure that all cars in the existing fleet are fully updated and always up to best condition in all matters.
• Coordinate and make a plan for updating and ensuring the fleet always have latest available software.
• Occasionally supporting in the event planning where cars will be needed. Can be everything from taking care of market requests, preparing, washing, planning transport and also acting as technical support at events of all different kind.
• Support with miscellaneous technical needs where a creative solution mindset is crucial
Who you are
We are looking for you who's service minded with passion working with electric vehicles, and people! Someone who's innovative, driven and not afraid of taking own decisions in all activities you undertake. You are well-organized, motivated and not afraid to try new approaches and using out of the box methods. We believe you have excellent problem-solving abilities and have a thorough and outstanding sense and understanding for details equally as a holistic view.
To be a great fit for this role we believe you have:
• Excellent skills in vehicle related software and trouble shooting. Meaning outstanding knowledge in VIDA and DSA.
• Experience in HV systems advantageous
• Driving license for car is a necessity. Additional driving licenses and license for forklift is meritorious
• Good computer skills (Office programs)
