About the position
As a Technical Writer you will be a part of our Engineering department consisting of about 50 engineers working. We work according to SAFe and Scrum, and are divided into several agile teams. You will be a dedicated Technical Writer in our vehicle team, focusing on navigation technology and hardware products. In parallel you will also be part of the Content Community of Practice (Content CoP), together with the other Technical Writers.
What a working day can look like
Each day starts with a daily meeting, together in the agile team, where we briefly go through what we are working on right now and if we need any help.
I spend the rest of the day learning about the features that the developers are working on. To be able to update and create information, I need to understand the upcoming software and hardware changes. My curiosity is a driving factor for learning and keeping up with the development.
Having an eye for details makes it easier to pinpoint relevant components to update and weave information pieces together. Once I have identified the necessary changes, I write the first draft, usually based on input and feedback from the developers.
In parallel with this, I am also working closely with my Technical Writers colleagues. We frequently conduct peer reviews and each week we engage in CoP activities to improve workflows and processes. "
We are looking for you who
have a bachelor's or master's degree within a relevant field (technical, informatics or similar)
have around five years' experience as a technical writer
have experience in writing for software and/or hardware products
have gained knowledge of complex technical systems
have good authoring and editing skills
are fluent in English
speak and write Swedish at intermediate to advanced level.
It is meritorious if you
have knowledge of version control systems (we are using Git version control frequently)
have experience in writing docs-as-code, and API documentation
have experience in writing from a user perspective
