As a Technical Writer you are the key stakeholder to help the Development Function to create and secure correct and relevant requirements adhering to formatting and publication standards within the Development Function. By making the documentation simple and pedagogical you are enabling it to both IKEA internal and external users to adapt an increasing overall understanding of the content.
You will support specialists and engineers in deriving documentation and initiating necessary documentation updates (IKEA specifications in particular) in order to create, maintain and secure product requirement information for IKEA suppliers and product developers
Your assignment
• Serving as a part of the team creating draft, new and amended versions of standard publications as content-wise primarily populated by Laws & Standards Specialists.
• Support Laws & Standards Specialists with optimal, consistent and standardized ways of communicating complicated technical content.
• Deliver correct language in GB English - grammatical, spelling, tonality and readability.
• Initiate improvement actions in relation to writing structure and use of font, colour, graphs, tables, pictures or new media.
• Plan and coordinate updates of documentation together with Laws & Standards Specialists.
• Improve documentation quality by quality checks on language, layout, structure, readability, simplicity, redundancy etc.
• Together with the requirement coordinator coordinate team and releases.
