Beepsend is a Swedish supplier of mobile services, focusing on global messaging services and mobile payment solutions. Our main customers are international mobile operators and virtual mobile operators (MNO/MVNO?s), aggregators and enterprises. Beepsend is working with both FOSS and in-house developed software in a small team of software-engineers located in several countries. Our aim is to use current technology, adventurous attitude and passionate follow-through to build the best tools in the market.
TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS/SUPPORT ENGINEER
As a Technical Support Engineer, you will provide support and resolve customer cases connected to Beepsends Enterprise Platforms such as web portals, SMPP and SMS Gateways, Premium and bulk SMS. Our products are constantly in development so work is performed in system configuration, network setup and diagnosis as well as in SMS traffic analysis, statistics and data-mining. As a Technical Support Engineer you will also provide technical assistance and remote troubleshooting support in cooperation with colleagues in the local office as well as in Malaysia and Poland. Furthermore you will also work closely with engineers, product managers, and sales engineers to improve our product portfolio and to make Beepsend's customers successful.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide support and resolve customer cases for Beepsends products in system configuration, network setup and traffic-diagnosis.
• Work in close relation to our customers and suppliers to monitor traffic flows and SMS delivery.
• Provide technical assistance and remote troubleshooting support.
• Work closely with engineers, product managers, and sales.
REQUIREMENTS:
• BS degree preferred in Computer Science or related technical degree.
• At least 2 years of industry experience in technical support, professional services, engineering, or systems engineering.
• Linux/Unix system administration skills with understanding of basic network administration and knowledge in database-design and normalization.
• Good understanding of Web-related standards, such as HTTP, HTML4.01 & 5, CSS and frameworks such as jQuery and Zend.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) is required.
• Hands-on experience, troubleshooting, and supporting Linux/Unix operating system, web-based applications, and database- and web servers.
• Outstanding account management, follow-through and problem solving skills, resourcefulness, attention to detail, and communication skills, both verbal and written. Most of our communication is in English.
• Experience from Telecom industry and telecom related technologies in the areas of SMS, SMSC, SS7, signaling etc. is considered and additional merit.
• Interest in taking lead over our outsourced first line support team.
• Positive attitude and a "no-prestige, hands-on"-approach.
• We appreciate geek-skills as much as social skills.
